Thanksgiving -2009

We had a wonderful day with lots of great food  ( Scottish shortbread, carrots, squash, creamed onions, homemade bread, sweet potatoes with pecans topping, chocolate cream pies, pumpkin whoopie pies, yummy salad and cole slaw, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes,  turkey, gravy, stuffing, and more cooked by all the guests (thank you). Chilled reisling and spatkling cider to wash it all down with. Two turkeys were carved sweet Evan, while I cooked the gravy. Monet said grace, then we all wrote something we were thankful for on slips of paper, and tried to guess who wrote them as we each selected one from a bowl-great fun and surprises as we read them. Everyone opened their ornaments-the first gift of Christmas, and seemed to like them. Uncle Mike and his guests brought edible bubbles that all enjoyed blowing , chasing and tasting on the deck before dessert. I am so grateful for the wonderful people in my life; it should be Thanksgiving every day. The one little problem is that not all the pictures I wanted to include would load, so I will post more later.
